Fully Automated "Manless" Operation

John M Henderson Machines have been designed for Fully Automated “Manless” Operation. This involves the incorporation of all necessary mechanical equipment on the machine with no requirement for an Operator or Benchman. The machine incorporates an Electronic Operator Terminal or Human Machine Interface (HMI) but has the facility to be operated from a control room overlooking the Battery.

The John M Henderson Pusher machines are designed for single spot operation and have the Ram Beam and Leveller Beam configured to suit battery operations. The Pusher Machine can be equipped with a combined Power and Fibre Optic Cable Reel thus removing the potential difficulties experienced with Power Conductor Bars and ensuring excellent reliability of the communications via the Fibre Optic Cores.

Total Environmental Control

John M Henderson Pusher Machines are at the cutting edge of Coke Oven equipment technology. In order to eliminate emissions from the pusher side, the Pusher Machine has the inclusion of an Emission Control System. The system uses a Reverse Jet Bag Filter Unit to remove the dust from the high temperature gases. The Emissions are collected from both the Pushing and Levelling Ovens. This is done by means of hydraulically operated Stainless Steel Smoke Canopies which are ducted to the Bag Filter Unit.

In addition to the primary function equipment of the Ram Beam, Leveller Beam and Door Extractor, the Pusher Machine incorporates the following equipment:
